Studio Practice

A showcase of the studies done in studio practice sessions.

Human Anatomy:

^^^

Muscle studies are so hard to get down. The human body is so complicated in all the twists and bits wrapped around each other so trying to get the muscles down is a trial. I found a big struggle I have is elongating or shrinking the legs and torso area. Drawing a figure without redoing the first section I started on because it is too small/big is rare.

^^^
I am to sure what to call these studies but it involved trying to find the figure under the clothes. Using a still from a movie is such an amazing way to do this as I appreciated the non-posed, in motion stances that were relaxed. They are some of the most interesting poses for me and will be helpful in my Capstone project I think.

^^^
Hand practice... and a lot of them. Hands can sometimes be the easiest thing to draw and then other times the most complicated collection of bones ever, like when holding an object in a weird way: how does that object affect the hand? Where does the weight lie? How does the thumb stretch to grip? Anyway much needed practice.

Clothing Studies:

^^^
Many clothing studies... many different types of folds...
This journey is majorly helpful in my Capstone pursuit as fashion is the focus. All of these sketches are incredibly messy but they achieved their aim of helping me learn the basics of some of these folds and how the fabric drapes.

Perspective :( :

^^^
Just a small perspective study trying to gage the horizon line and a small attempt at trying to create a new environment from it. Although helpful I did find this method quite tedious and time consuming, super great for learning but I wouldn't do it every time.

Portfolio and Evaluation

Evaluation: I think I lost the essence of the project in the middle a little, I got stuck on wanting to do the realistic to fantasy pipeline...
